Thanks for the recipe! My grandfather (who's parents moved to the united states from Italy) used to boil it and put it in pancake batter, then fry it in a little oil. They taste great with a little salt. He said that was the way his mother always cooked it for his family. I'll bet he would get a smile on his face if I made this for him. He tried growing it in his garden a few years back, but mice got into it when he was bleaching it, so I've only eaten the wild version (burdock for anyone in the United states that wants to try it, but can't find it in the store)

Thanks again! `I'm going to try this recipe this week!

What a great introduction to a new ingredient! I love the idea of an artichoke-tasting vegetable that has the sturdiness of celery. What a fun trick this would be to play on my mother -- she's never been a celery fan, but loves artichokes. I think she'd get a kick out of this!

new name for me. If I see it, I would think it's a new species of celery...haha. This dish looks so delicious and healthy. Did you mention low calories? Good for indulgence then :)) I can eat that for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
