I baked some sourdough bread this weekend--the only difference is that I had to first make my own starter. In my opinion, nothing quite compares to a French baguette--it's one of the top treats I look forward to when visiting France. However, it was nice to be able to make my own. I'm still learning, though. Your baguettes look perfect--I woud have loved to have a piece of 250 year old starter at my disposal. :-) Sylvia, we were on the same wavelength.
